Over three decades ago a group of Key West business people gathered together to form the Key West Business Guild, the nation’s oldest LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
Only a few years later during the fledgling years of Fantasy Fest, that same group started the Headdress Ball. The Ball served then, as it does now, as a major fundraiser for the the Guild.
Over the years the Ball was staged in some of the community’s favorite bars beginning with The Monster and traveling to Delmonicos, The Copa, Club Chameleon, Epoch, Bourbon Street Pub, and then under a tent at the infamous Atlantic Shores Resort. When the Shores was no longer available, the Southernmost Hotel Collection became the home to the Headdress Ball.
Two years ago the Headdress Ball moved back across the street to Southernmost Hotel on the Beach, located where Atlantic Shores once stood at 508 South Street, under one of the largest performance tents that Key West has ever seen!
Please join us for Headdress Ball. It’s a grand evening of high performance and not a lot of rules! We celebrate Our One Human Feamily and hope that everyone remembers that there’s only one reason for a closet and that’s to hold costumes!
This is an Adult themed All Welcome event. Rain or Shine.
